If you have a free hour this weekend I recommend this beautiful film. Billy and I are starting down this path now, mostly by accident. Without lots of funds one can’t help but let things be. We have been repeatedly surprised that nature has more to offer than we would have guessed. Haven’t we been taught from birth that a sign of good character is one’s ability to manipulate nature, to take something wild and make it tame? We celebrate the cut lawn and cleared spaces and it has been an environmental disaster.
Billy has always been good at waiting and watching, and I’m learning. The future of farming will be very interesting (we do have to eat) and it is this challenge that gets me up in the morning.
The film is called Natural World: Farming for the Future
