Gus is visiting and brought a cake with him ( chocolate with cream cheese frosting, homemade by him), tomorrow is the first day of hunting season,  and after dinner we have Billy’s stories.

Hunting Season 101:

Probably not a good idea to go for a walk

If you must be outside, wear orange

(Depending on who is hunting near you, maybe the basement is a better location)

Opening day is a BIG deal in this part of the world

Deer will be crazy so driving is not a great idea either, especially as the sun rises and sets

Opening day usually involves drama of some sort which then generates stories. These are very useful during long winter nights.
