Hello. My name is Anna. I live on a beautiful hill farm in the Finger Lakes region of New York for part of the year and on the family farm in Harford County, Maryland for part of the year, with my husband and two daughters. We raise Dorset, Tunis, Hampshire, and Texel sheep, Angus and Angus-cross cattle, Berkshire pigs, a few chickens, and one Jersey cow named Eloise. It is an unfolding adventure and meanwhile, good stories are being told and art is being made.
Anna, I went to college with Emily and Heather, whom I just saw in Massachusetts in August. And another dear friend, Meagan Howell, steered me toward your pages; I’m so glad she did. I hope it’s alright for a complete stranger to be reading about your doings. I just read the letter to Annie about the labor and birth (of your husband’s relative, I think?) in 1914. I’m currently expecting our second child, but haven’t been thinking much about it in the last few weeks. The letter called me back. A noble cry!
I look forward to more. Edith Presler
Thanks Edith. You are welcome. I wonder if your Heather is the Heather I know….I’ll have to ask Emily.
